Humble biscuit dough is filled with cinnamon, sugar and chopped raisins and then rolled up into a jellyroll. The dough is then sliced to make a quick bread cinnamon roll.

Ингредиенты

  • 2 cups (250 grams) flour
  • 1 teaspoon (6 grams) salt
  • 4 teaspoons (18 grams) baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons (9 grams) shortening
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) milk
  • 2 tablespoons (30 grams) butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup (70 grams) sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (7.8 grams) cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup (110 grams) chopped raisins

Biscuit Dough

  1. 1Combine dry ingredients.
  2. 2Cut in shortening.
  3. 3Add milk and stir until a soft dough forms.
  4. 4Knead dough 8 to 10 times.
  5. 5Pat or roll out 1/4-inch (.64 cm) thick on a lightly floured surface.

Filling# Spread softened butter onto rolled out biscuit dough.

  1. 1Mix together sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over buttered biscuit dough.
  2. 2Chop raisins.
  3. 3Sprinkle chopped raisins over cinnamon sugar mixture.
  4. 4Roll up dough, jelly roll style, starting on the long side.
  5. 5Pinch seams together.
  6. 6Slice dough into 1-inch (2.54 cm) pieces.
  7. 7Place sliced dough just barely touching on a shallow baking sheet.
  8. 8Place on baking sheet.
  9. 9Bake at 425 to 450 degrees F (220 to 230 C) until golden, about 20 minutes.
  10. 10Serves 6.
